Writing College Essays
How to apply techniques of storytelling into your college essays.
College admissions is often referred to as a series of gates. If you can make it through the several gates admission officer put into front of you, it's likely you'll get a spot in that university.
The first "gate" is grades, as most, if not all, colleges value grades as the most important factor. Subsequent "gates" include standardized test scores, extracurriculars, and recommendations.
However, one of the last things admission officers will look at on your application is your essays. Therefore, it's so important that you don't lose all the momentum you've built by sending in subpar essays.
Learning how to write college essays can not only help you get into the college you want, but also provides valuable insight into the process of any essay.
